Malti Mary had come to this world before time. The actress told in a conversation with Vogue magazine that she was not sure that her daughter would survive. Priyanka was present in the operation theater when Malti Mary was born. She recalls, ‘I was in the operation room when she came into this world. They were smaller than a hand in size. I saw nurses working in intensive care. They do the work given by God. While they were inserting tubes into the daughter’s body, Nick and I were standing there watching all this. I don’t know how they know where to insert the tube. I did not even know whether the daughter would survive or not.

Why did Priyanka Chopra take the path of surrogacy?
Priyanka told that she had a health problem, due to which she could not become a mother in a normal way, so she adopted the path of surrogacy. Women are not able to become mothers easily when they are old. They have to resort to IVF or surrogacy under compulsion. Priyanka Chopra, 40, was also facing similar problems. The actress said about surrogacy, ‘I was struggling with a medical problem. It was necessary for me to do this. I am lucky that my circumstances were such that I could do this.
